Beautiful Birthday Surprise!
These are the most recent presents I have presented and they were given in celebration of my best friend’s birthday. Rather than putting all of them in one gift bag, I’ve wrapped them individually which makes the recipient feel like she is getting so much more!
I chose to use a plain, glossy-white paper and let the ribbon do all the talking. I used several different types of ribbon for these packages: a 1 1/2″ wide multi-tone, wired ribbon and 1/4″ribbon in three colors - white, lavender and deep purple. Attaching adornments to the ribbon is one of my favorite tricks! Notice the small, silver beads tied to the ends of the thin ribbon on the largest package and tied in the center of the bow on the rectangular package. The small square package is adorned with a special crochet-covered bead that I purchased at an Etsy craft fair last year. I only have a limited number of those beads, so it makes the present even more special!
Typically, I take great care to make sure the paper is pulled tight, there are no wrinkles and all of the edges are crisply creased . You’ll notice on the smaller square gift, the wrapping has imperfections - that’s because I didn’t have a box. It’s OK if you can’t make everything perfect every time…they are gifts after all and the paper will be ripped open eventually! Just try to do the best you can with the tools you have on-hand.
